Shilpa Sharma. Although she has the professional education of a physical therapist, with the passage of time she has realized that she is simply a musician at heart.
Shilpa learned Hindustani classical music growing up in Mumbai. She had the good fortune to participate in numerous singing competitions and stage shows, even working with eminent Bollywood personalities like Sudesh Bhosale and Anu Malik, before moving to USA to pursue a job opportunity! She has continued to give musical performances in the US also. She is an equal-opportunity musician – enjoys listening to good music from all styles and cultures, and sings everything from semi-classical to devotional to cabaret and rock! Having said that, the evergreen Bollywood music of the golden era is truly where her heart is! Shilpa lives in Maryland and shares a love of travel and exploring history, culture and cuisine with her husband and two boys.
She enjoys learning about and talking about stories and trivia related to songs and the great musical personalities who created them. And it is these same stories and other interesting or unique information that she plans to share with you as she plays the beautiful Bollywood numbers we all love on her radio show!
